This View Will Be Evolving

In an architectural world bent on progressing forward and modernisation, there isn't often any room left for post-World War II accommodation. Victoria Lawrence documented the change in the architectural environment around her in Devonport in Plymouth on her Pentax 6x7 camera and Ilford HP5 120 black and white film. She explains "This is a body of work exploring an era of architecture and an area of housing in its liminal state. From dwellings awaiting demolition to empty spaces where the post-World War II flats once stood, these photographs document the transient nature of our built environment and the concept of the home as a potentially ephemeral structure."
